As if we didn't already consume a lot of vegetables in our house we are amping up on vegetable consumption and have started making green smoothies. Spinach and kale in a smoothie just general don't sound areally awesome to me. Then add in drinking something green, or brown, which is what it usually turns out be, and it isn't exactly appealing, but it's nutritious and sometimes actually tasty. Last week I tried a recipe I found on pinterest using spinach, avocado, and kiwis, but in the end it just had a harsh spinach after taste that I could not get past, but my husband downed his cup.
This week we tried another green smoothie and it turned out better. We threw the following in our blender and it was decent on the verge of good.
1/4 cup flax seed
1/2 cup almond breeze, or milk of your choice
2 cups spinach
